Mathew Millar, Podiatrist (BSc DPM)
Mathew Millar graduated from the University of Western Australia, earning his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine. He also holds undergraduate degrees in both Human Anatomy and Psychology.
As an avid soccer player, Mathew was first drawn to podiatry through his personal experiences with lower limb, ankle, and foot issues, all of which were effectively managed by his local podiatrist.
With a strong understanding of the importance of pain-free movement, Mathew combines evidence-based biomechanics and rehabilitation techniques to help his patients return to their active lifestyles, free from pain. His approach is focused on getting individuals back to performing at their best, whether for sports or daily activities.
Outside of his professional work, Mathew stays active through social sports, gym workouts, and playing soccer, maintaining his passion for fitness and movement.
Shivani Parihar, Podiatrist (BSc DPM)
Shivani Parihar obtained her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from UWA, alongside a Bachelor of Science in Pathology and Pharmacology. She started her career in Bunbury, serving the rural southwest communities by treating a wide range of foot and ankle issues, from ingrown toenails to complex biomechanical conditions and injuries.
Shivani collaborated closely with a foot and ankle surgeon, contributing to both pre-and post-operative care.
Her professional interests include pediatric care, biomechanics, sports rehabilitation, and chronic foot and ankle disease management. Currently, Shivani is completing her endorsement in scheduled medicine, which will allow her to administer steroid injections and prescribe medications as part of treatment plans.
In her free time, she enjoys staying fit through activities like badminton, squash, swimming, and hiking. Shivani is dedicated to helping others maintain strong foot and ankle health.
Lucy Weekes, Podiatrist (B.Pod.Med.)
Lucy Weekes is an experienced and dedicated podiatrist with a special interest in high-risk, musculoskeletal, and sports-related foot and ankle conditions. After completing her Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine in New South Wales, Lucy began her career with JS Podiatry, developing strong foundations across all areas of podiatry.
Over the past two years, she has further developed her skills at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in South Australia, where she worked as a high-risk clinical senior and research podiatrist, contributing to the development of innovative Telehealth and digital-health solutions for diabetic lower limb complications across the state. This experience and managing acute presentation of complex lower-limb conditions have given her a comprehensive understanding of preventative foot care and challenging biomechanical presentations.
In addition to her high-risk work, Lucy is a sporty person by nature and understands the demands of an active lifestyle and the frustration of injury. Outside the clinic, she enjoys running, group fitness, and exploring new ways to support movement, strength, and performance.
Alycia Lee, Podiatrist (BSc DPM)
Alycia Lee is a dedicated podiatrist at JS Podiatry, with a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine and a Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences, majoring in Medical Sciences, giving her a strong foundation in the science and clinical practice of lower limb health.
With a particular interest in musculoskeletal injury management and rehabilitation, paediatric podiatry, and skin and nail care, Alycia takes a thorough and personalised approach with every patient. Having previously worked closely with a podiatric surgeon in Geraldton, she gained valuable experience supporting patients through post-surgical rehabilitation and managing a wide range of acute and chronic soft tissue injuries, shaping her holistic, rehabilitation-focused approach to care.
Alycia combines her clinical expertise with a genuine interest in understanding each patient’s lifestyle and goals. She believes effective treatment goes hand in hand with education, empowering her patients to take an active role in their own recovery and long-term foot health.
Outside of work, you’ll find Alycia at a reformer pilates class, on the tennis court, volunteering with her local church, on long walks along the foreshore, or enjoying a good pastry at a busy cafe, a reflection of her own commitment to movement and an active lifestyle.
Johan Steenkamp, Founder & Practice Leader
Johan Steenkamp is the Founder of JS Podiatry. After earning his Bachelor’s degree in Podiatry from the University of Johannesburg, Johan gained valuable experience working in Singapore, Malaysia, and Sydney before settling in Perth with his wife and two daughters in 2015.
In 2017, he established JS Podiatry to provide high quality podiatry care to the local community, with a focus on musculoskeletal and sports related conditions. Johan has since stepped back from clinical practice to lead the clinic and its team full time, ensuring every patient receives the same standard of care and attention to detail he built the practice on.
